How to use an emergency card

How to use an emergency card

How does the card work ?

An emergency card will allow the user to open any vehicle of the Ubeeqo fleet regardless on which operator they are registered in, allowing them to move the car without limitations. By using the emergency card, it creates a booking on the vehicle (not on the BackOffice). The booking information will therefore not be displayed in Ubeeqo's backoffice and the user will not get charged for the booking.

To use the emergency card the only thing needed is the 4 digit PIN code associated to the emergency card. The device expert (Tanguy Clouet) owns the list of PIN codes for all Ubeeqo emergency cards. To request the PIN to an emergency card please contact the device expert using the ServiceNow Hardware request form.

Swiping the emergency card om the badge reader will unlock the doors and awaken the device which will ask for the card PIN. Once the user enters the PIN the device will display a message indicating the trip can be started.

Once the user is finished using the car, they need to place the datafob attached to the keys back in the terminal to end the emergency booking. They then need swipe the emergency card on the card reader after exiting the vehicle which will then lock the car doors.

What are the main points to know ?

  • Emergency bookings are never subject to hardzone check or cable check (for electriv cars) and the user can end the booking regardless
  • The language used on the terminal is the "default" language selected for the device but this can be changed to the language of the operator if you wish (this needs to be configured in the master menu)
  • Swiping the Emergency card will close any started booking on the car
  • Replacing the datafob is necessary to end the emergency booking, if the datafob is not properly detected and you are not able to end the booking, lock the doors from the inside until the badge reader lights up in red and swipe the emergency card
